Iranian giant Siamand Rahman has won the gold medal in the Men's +100 kilograms category of powerlifting and broke the record of the Paralympic Games.
The 24-year-old world champion lifted 270 kilograms in his first attempt to break the Paralympics’ 265-kilogram record at Excel Arena in London on Wednesday.
Rahman made a successful lift in his second attempt with 280 kilograms to increase his record, but he failed to lift his last attempt, which was 301 kilograms.
Rahman became the strongest man in the Paralympics by his record at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Iranian powerlifting team marked its best ever result in Paralympics’ history with four golds, one silver, and one bronze.
