Islamic Revolution day
Millions of Iranians in Tehran along with all the cities across the country started the 37 year old rally of 11 February which marks the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
Despite the cold weather of the day, millions of Iranians have showed up on streets across the country to perform the national ritual of 11 Feb.
The ralliers hold banners in their hands which some of them read: ‘We are followers of the Leader,’ ‘Down with USA,’ ‘Down with Israel,’ and ‘We don’t go dishonored.’
This is the date on which the Islamic Revolution of 1979 fruited into victory after years of oppression under the tyranny of the US-backed monarchy of Pahlavi regime who took the lives of thousands of its dissidents.
Ten days before the date, the late Imam Khomeini who was in exile for 17 years flied back into the country and after ten days of bloody street rallies the nation-backed revolution announced its victory.

Malaysian Muslim activists have protested outside the US embassy against the upcoming visit by President Barack Obama, denouncing him as an enemy of Islam.
The protesters marched to the embassy in Kuala Lumpur from a nearby mosque after Friday afternoon prayers, shouting "God is great" and "Obama is the enemy of the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH]."
They also bore placards and banners saying: "US is axis of evil" and handed out leaflets saying "Reject Obama, World's No. 1 Terrorist."

Divine sandstorm
Tabas incident, occurred in Tabas desert on April 24, 1980, is a memorable day in the history of Islamic Republic of Iran.
On April 25, 1980, the United States launched Operation Eagle Claw (or Operation Rice Bowl) in an attempt to rescue Americans held in the Iranian capital of Tehran after the 1979 Islamic Revolution ordered by President Jimmy.
However, a sandstorm struck and brought down the US helicopters involved in the operation, killing eight American servicemen.
The US Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps were all involved in the operation.
Operation Eagle Claw was one of the first missions conducted by Delta Force.
The botched attempt brought further disgrace to the administration of former US President Jimmy Carter in the eyes of the American public. Many believe it played a major role in Carter's defeat in the 1980 presidential election.
Iran marks the event every year as a symbol of US failure.

Deportees
US forces have formally marked the end of the nearly nine-year war in Iraq with a low-key flag ceremony near Baghdad. The ceremony officially brings to an end the divisive war that began with the invasion to oust Saddam Hussein.
The "casing of the colours" near the airport, the first site the US occupied in Baghdad in 2003, comes with around 4000 US soldiers still in Iraq, all of whom will depart in the coming days.
After that, all that will remain are 157 soldiers under the authority of the American embassy in Iraq, a country where there were once nearly 170,000 troops on more than 500 bases.
The withdrawal ends a war that left tens of thousands of Iraqis and nearly 4500 American soldiers dead, many more wounded, and 1.75 million Iraqis displaced, after the US-led invasion unleashed brutal sectarian fighting.

To pose with murdered civilians
The WE: US Army 'kill team' pose with photos of murdered civilians in Afghanistan. The dead body of the boy, Gul Mudin is seen here lying by the wall where he was killed.U.S. soldiers in Bravo Company stationed near Kandahar in a war game they were playing took it upon themselves to kill an unarmed Afghanistan boy.
The Kill team did this January 15th 2010.
Gul Mudin, a young teenager, lived in the village of La Mohammad Kalay, Afghanistan.
Sworn statements have two soldiers Corporal Jeremy Morlock and Private First Class Andrew Holmes engaged in staging the killing so that it would appear that the US soldiers had been under attack.
The statements read that they ordered the boy to stand still, then they tossed a grenade at him and opened fire with their weapons while they remained behind a mud wall.
Holmes's lawyer states that Holmes fired his weapon as ordered but missed, and that the photos in question reveal the victim was likely killed by wounds inflicted by a grenade or other weapons than the kind of automatic weapon Holmes was carrying at the time. The lawyer said his client only posed with the corpse because he was ordered to do so.
At his original Article 32 hearing in November 2010 Holmes then aged 20 professed his innocence directly to the presiding officer, declaring: "I want to tell you soldier to soldier that I did not commit murder."
