Putin's gift to Ayatollah Khamenei

Russian President Vladimir Putin gifted one of the world’s oldest Quran manuscripts to Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. (November, 23, 2015)
Putin was currently on an official visit to Iran to attend the third Summit of leaders of the GECF (Gas Exporting Countries Forum) member states underway in Tehran.

World’s smallest Quran

The smallest Quran in the world measuring 7millimeters in length and 3 micrometers in width has been inscribed on a silicon surface in Iran. Written by Rohollah Sharifi using laser technology, the book is comprised of 633 pages. The holy verses of the Quran can be read with the use of microscope.

International Holy Quran Competitions

The 29th edition of the international competitions in Qur’an Recitation and Memorization has kicked off in the Iranian capital, Tehran, with representatives from around the world.
Some 50 reciters and 40 memorizers of the holy Qur’an from about 70 countries have participated in this year’s competitions that opened on Sunday at Tehran’s Milad Tower.
An exhibition of Quranic productions is also being held on the sideline of the event. The participants are also expected to attend a seminar on Quranic research on June 21.
The 29th International Holy Qur’an Competitions will run until June 22.
