At a graduation ceremony of "police" in Gaza, Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh insisted that the security forces that the Hamas security forces in Gaza will remain in place no matter what.
He said the security forces were founded to serve the nation, and would not be dismantled.
Haniyeh said Gaza's police have "clean hands" as they do not work with Israel's occupation, a jibe at the West Bank security forces who are obliged to coordinate with Israeli security under international agreements.
During the graduation ceremony policemen displayed different skills including hand to hand combat.
During the war on Gaza Israeli forces killed nearly 1400 Gazans mainly civilians including 770 policemen.
