RoboCup IranOpen 2012The RoboCup IranOpen 2012 competitions had opened on Thursday, hosting 395 teams. In addition to Iran, 13 countries including India, the United States, China, Germany, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Britain, Greece, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey are participating in the international competitions.
Flying robots, humanoids, rescue robots, soccer player robots and submarine robots compete in the three day event.
RoboCup is an international robotics competition founded in 1997. The aim of the competition is to promote robotics and artificial intelligence research.
In most of the 19 leagues, Iranian teams won the first place. Only in soccer 3D simulation as well as rescue agent simulation, teams from the US and China respectively won the gold medal.
