The cricket world cup semi-final between India and Pakistan was the first time the two teams had met in India since 2007. The game had political significance as Pakistani prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani (centre) was invited to sit alongside his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh.India beat Pakistan in this game on 30 March 2011 and confirmed its place in the Finals against Sri Lanka. The match has created a great deal of hype because of the ongoing tensions between the two nations and was equated to war.
